King Ludwig's last dream and Germany's highest castle ruin.

Situated at 1277 metres above sea level, the viewing platform in the ruins offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Allgäu Alps and the Alpine foothills. From up here you can also catch a glimpse of Neuschwanstein Castle. A small castle museum provides information about the ruins and the plans of King Ludwig II. The king planned to build his last dream castle here - even bigger than Neuschwanstein Castle.
